What Parents Say:

Our History

LTSA originates from a mother's dream for her two young boys to nurture, explore, and impart their language and cultural heritage with the wider community.

LTSA founder Mariana Lira has been blessed to actively participate in the upbringing and education of her children during their early years. The journey was smooth and exciting as they absorbed the language in a practical and natural setting.

Mariana’s two children served as her guide, providing firsthand insights into which methods were effective or ineffective in the realm of teaching and learning another language. Alongside her extensive experience and education, this equips her to embark on this new adventure.

In 2016, I began teaching Spanish in small groups and providing individual lessons for both preschool and elementary-aged students. After two years of teaching preschool and elementary children, I decided to create a space for families to benefit from our program. In August 2018, we opened the doors to our physical space, welcoming parents and children eager to embark on the wonderful adventure of exploring and learning a new language and its cultures.

After conducting a thorough exploration of various learning methods and activities, my attention was captured by the Montessori philosophy. I began implementing hands-on learning, sensory activities, practical life tasks such as food preparation, gardening, dressing, and creating a conducive environment. This approach proved to be highly engaging and sparked significant interest. It was at this point that I decided to focus my learning on this methodology and blend its principles into our program.
